Currently, the simulation researches in our country are scattered and they are usually limited to solve signal problem. In addition, when involving traffic simulation in mixed situation, they are likely to ignore the interfering of bicycles and pedestrian in traffic running process. This does not accord with the mixed traffic situation in our country. There are few researches on level of service calculation that combines with the mixed traffic characteristic in China, especially those utilizing the methods of computer simulation to systemically calculate level of service of intersection in mixed traffic situation.As the economic development rapidly and the material life level improving continuously, people are pursuing the quality and efficiency more and more. Therefore, it is necessary to intensify to scientific plan, design and manage urban road, as well as utilize the capacity of intersections sufficiently and enhance the level of service. Moreover, the level of service of traffic utilities is a significant criteria in traffic planning, designing and management. So, accurately evaluating the level of service of urban traffic utilities is very crucial.This paper introduced the actuality of traffic simulation technology in our and foreign countries firstly, and indicate some limitation of present simulation systems that are used to calculate intersection level of service in mixed traffic situation. And then, the paper analyzed the theories and methods exploring traffic simulation system, which underlies later designing and realization of traffic simulation system. Thirdly, this article chose and built the vehicles and pedestrian running models that are suitable for the mixed traffic in our country. Fourthly, according to the theories of system exploring, the paper designed a traffic simulation system. Finally, according to technology and methods of software exploring, the paper utilize VC++ to encode the procedure in order to realize the traffic micro simulation system.
