Intersection which is the main part of traffic net seems also to be the choke point of traffic flow and a place where accidents frequently happen. Mixed traffic flow is the main characteristic of large cities in China. Specially, in the signalized intersection, great interference is caused by motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. Therefore, it is impossible study among real traffic environment again and again. Thus, traffic simulation by computer becomes a great effective method. By traffic simulation, we can simulate various traffic phenomena, in-depth analyze various traffic characters. The traffic simulation provides a visual, effective and flexible experiment and test platform.On the base of the Project of National Natural Science Foundation "Research on the Calculation and Simulation of Signalized Intersection Level of Service in Mixed Traffic Situation", this paper focuses on designing and developing bicycle subsystem in signalized intersection micro-simulation system, by analyzing bicycle's behaviors in intersection.Firstly, this paper introduces the status of traffic simulation technology at home and abroad, and points out shortcomings when the existing simulation systems are used in China's mixed traffic environment. And then, the paper analyzed the theories and methods on traffic simulation system, which underlies later designing and realization of traffic simulation system. Thirdly, carrying out requirement analysis of bicycle subsystem in signal intersection of mixed traffic environment, it is main to analyze the characteristics of mixed traffic and the traffic characteristics of bicycle and behavior characteristics, moreover, the simulation models of the interference are confirmed. Fourthly, the paper introduces the system design of the micro-simulation system in signal intersection as well the overall structure and the function of each subsystem. It is more important to focus on the overall framework design, each functional module design and database design with bicycle subsystem. At last, VC++ is taken as a system development language in this paper. Combined with simulation models, the subsystem uses ADO and MSChart control to achieve development.
