With rapid development of electric power systerm of China in resent years,the power nets become larger and the interconnections of the nets are more complicated,all of that make the fault probability increase. The actions of relay protection during faults will seriously affect the security of the power systerm, so it is very meaningful to theoretics and practicability in changing the way of testing relay protection equipment from steady-state to transient-state.As the popularization of computer relay protection, testing computer relay protection equipments'dynamic characteristic by power system dynamic simulator as well as real time digital simulator is most popular.Dynamic performance checking method of protective relaying devices during faults using dynamic model of electric power system or so called fault-reproducing devices is very expensive,less flexible and toilsome. This paper proposes and appliction sofrware,which is based on The Researching and Develop of Simulating System of Dynamic Characteristics of Relay Protection,mainly using advanced computer languages such as OOP Visual C++ 6.0 and Fortran.The data of IEEE Standard Common Format for Transient Data Exchange for Power system is used as input signals, based on that dynamic simulation system developed some new functions including data analysing, fault diagnosing,distance protection , differential protection of transformer of ratio braking style through which many kinds of transformer faulty process can be reproduced. At the same time by analysing the exciting inrush current rule exactly , the judgements made by kinds of exciting inrush current criterion can be tested. Besides, lots of simulated data got from locale,EMTDC and RTDS are tested by the dynamic simulation system,all of that proved the correctness of this paper.Many kinds of fautly are also used to analised the relay dynamic characteristic in this paper.
