The Study On The Preventive Maintenance Of Speedway Bitumen Pavement

It is defined that pavement preventive maintenance is to maintain those appropriate roads at reasonable time applying feasible technique, which can repair tiny disease of the pavement in time so that severe damage will be held back, thus mill and overhaul are reduced, the cost of heavy repair is saved, and the life of the pavement is prolonged while it keeps good serving state. Therefore it is quite required that Department of the nation study and develop speedway bitumen pavement preventive maintenance technologies and managing modes and implement pavement preventive maintenance management.The importance of pavement preventive maintenance is indicated in this paper according to the analysis of the concept of pavement preventive maintenance. It discusses the characteristic and content of pavement preventive maintenance. Then several extensively-applied preventive maintenance technologies, such as chip seal, micro-surfacing etc. are recommended based on the analysis of the cause and characteristic of bitumen pavement damage, one of which called fog-seal technology is especially mentioned including its principle, construction technics,correlative pavement survey and so on. In the end it points out the direction of material, technics and equipment development of bitumen pavement preventive maintenance.
