Application Research On CO-MA-SEAL(?)AS In Preventive Maintenance Of Asphalt Pavement

CO-MA-SEAL? Asphalt SEAL(AS) is a permeable water-based product rich in special active chemical reaction ingredients. AS is widely concerned and applied abroad owing to its good permeability, dispersion, anti-stripping capacity and abrasion resistance, while domestic market has just started to know it. Therefore, this thesis conducts a research on the engineering application of AS based on testing section which is in the system repair of pavement engineering of Linchang Highway.(1) The research of repair mechanism shows that AS has special advantages in controlling water damage,improving high temperature stability and repairing mini fractures. The performance tests of AS have been made, judging that AS accords with the evaluation standard of the permeable interface waterproof coating technical properties.(2) The physical and mechanical performance test of raw materials shows that the physical and mechanical performance of SBS modified asphalt and various aggregate can meet the design requirements. At the same time, the design proportioning and the optimum proportion of oil and stone of SBS modified AC-13 C asphalt mixture are determined by adopting the Marshall design method. A contrast has been made to see the road performance differences between the before-and-after casting AS mixture. It can be seen that the mixture's abrasion resistance and anti-permeability have been significantly improved, and its anti-sliding performance is affected. However, AS has no obvious effect on the improvement of material's high temperature stability, low temperature crack resistance and water stability, etc.(3) Based on the actual construction situation of support engineering, the construction process, techniques and precautions of AS are put forward. Through the testing section's on-site test, and the before-and-after performance of casting AS in entity project, the application effect is further determined. AS, as the adhesive agent of new and old asphalt layer, and the construction method of pavement segregation mending agent is introduced.(4) Through economic comparative analysis between spraying AS and common preventive maintenance measures, it can be concluded that AS materials, owing to its obvious economic benefit, simple construction technology, product being safe, environmental and having no pollution, having little influence on traffic, is a high quality asphalt pavement prevention and maintenance material, enjoying a wide application prospect.In summary, using AS to do preventive maintenance of asphalt can effectively extend road's life spin, and also it is economic and reasonable. Thus, the research of this paper can provide reference for the further popularization and application of AS.
