Seoul , the capital of south Korea, has begun to develop since the 1970th. After 30years of economical growth, it reaches the level today. And in China, t he cities and economic grows even more rapidly, since the beginning of reform ing and opening in 1992 to today. The problem witch comes with a so rapidly growth like this is: comparing with Japan, and the other developed countries in Europe and America, this kind of growth speed is quite unusual and leads to many immature urban conformations and urban problems. The most important unsolved urban problems is public transportation in these two super high densit y cities -Shanghai and Seoul. As we all known, subway is the most efficient and quickest way of transpo rtation. And the connection space between the subway station and the surroun ding commercial centre is a very important public space witch provides the pas sengers of the public transportation with more various boundaries and choices.Researching on the "connection space underground", we are not only just simply discussing the in-between space, but also analyzing the space for provi ding the passengers with more connivance and efficiency. We analyzed the var iety of the space, for making the research result serve the both turn of theoreti c and practice. In the end, we came out the possibilities of how to making use of the connection space between the subway station and the surrounding com mercial centre. The author made spot investigation and research to the main c onnection space between the subway station and the surrounding commercial c entre in both Shanghai and Seoul.Shanghai and Seoul are two typical examples of urban expansion and expl osion. They have some aspects in common, according to the same geographic al and humanity elements. But comparing with other cites in Europe and Ameri ca, the spaces has something in difference still. Our research is based on the aspects that are in common.
