This paper refers that according to fast development of science technology, electronic information system has further progress with new system, new technologies and new technique. High requirements call for network measurement. Network measurement technologies have manual, CW and the new stage: intelligent, multi-parameter, wideband and auto-measurement. And it produces many advanced auto-measurement systems. High-precision amplitude-phase receiver is the indispensable core part of a vector network analyzer, which design affects the specifications of the network analyzer. So, researching the high-precision amplitude phase receiver decides the key technology of the network analyzer.This paper introduces some theories and application of a high-precision synthesized vector network analyzer, especially high-precision amplitude phase receiver. And in this paper, the working theory, development situation and application future are exposited. Then it tells the detail thread of design of the high-precision amplitude phase receiver and eyes on some key design technologies such as design of the first and the second mixers referent to one kind of the vector network analyzer.
