Water hydraulics is an advance technology using raw fresh water or seawater as pressure medium. Because of its many advantages such as cleanliness, inflammability, energy-saving property, easy availability of the operating medium, etc., it is being paid more and more attention in engineering fields home and abroad. Water hydraulic proportional relief valves can control the water pressure continuously and proportionally according to the input electric signals. The research on this kind of valves has a huge significance to the diffusion and application of water hydraulic transmission.The objective of the thesis is to design a sample of the water hydraulic proportional relief valve, carry out theoretical analysis and experimental investigation on the sample, get the main performance index. The main research work are as follows.By referring to research results of water hydraulic components home and abroad, the key developing technique is proposed. And a developing plan of the water hydraulic proportional relief valve is set. After the sample performance requirements are proposed, the valve structure and dimensions are calculated.The dynamic mathematical model of the valve is created based on the valve strcture. By using the Simulink software pack embedded in Matlab, dynamic Simulation is conducted to the valve model, and the influence of relevant parameters on the dynamic performance of the valve is discussed, this supply theory foundation to the valve structure design.The technical plan, in which a proportional electromagnet is adopted in the water hydraulic proportional relief valve, is proposed. The proportional electromagnet is designed and procured, and the performance test is conducted. The experiment states that the proportional electromagnet performance is good,can meet the need of water hydraulic relief valve.A sample of the water hydraulic proportional relief valve is developed and experimental investigation is carried out, including the static test and the dynamic test, and the experiment results are analyzed, the performance parametre of the sample is got.The experiment states that the sample has wide adjusting range, big linear scope, good star-stop performance, good dynamic performance. The static and dynamic performances of the sample meet the expectation. The above research is useful for the further development of water hydraulic proportional relief valves.
