Stroke seriously endanger the human beings'health because of its very high outbreak rate, death rate and disabled rate. The movement function diseases and such syndromes as depression etc resulted from the stroke all do badly harm to the sufferer's mentality and body, and also brought heavy burden for the society and the family. The research expresses that the integration rehabilitation method could got satisfied curative effect. As the rapid development of embedded technology and its wide applications in biomedical engineering, medical instrument are developing towards minimization and portability. Combining current domestic and international research results, and utilizing the ARM-LINUX embedded platform, the project introduces a design of a portable Stroke Rehabilitation apparatus. This Stroke Rehabilitation apparatus uses the Electromyography Triggered Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation as for the major therapeutics, and the Fastigial Nucleus Stimulation as for the assistant therapeutics. It can play a positive role in the rebuilding of cerebral nerve net, the movement function diseases, the protection of brain function and psychological rehabilitation. This paper's main work is the study of control system of stroke rehabilitation apparatus based on the ARM9 chip S3C2410 and LINUX operation system. The emphases of this paper is designing the hardware circuit and developing the device driver, including circuit modules as EMG collection, NMES ,FNS, LCD displaying, serial-port connected printer, network interface, etc.To estimate the therapeutic effect to paralytic disease after stroke with the equipment, the preliminary clinical experiment on patients are conducted. The results show that it have explicit treatment function to paralytic disease without obvious side effect, and having the characters of non-invasive, safety, convenience and strong alternating capability. Consequently, it will afford a bran-new method and general platform to the stroke patients for their whole rehabilitation.
