Hydraulic excavator is the major construction machine in the earth moving, excavation and engineering field, and it is widely used in the mechanized construction of energy, transportation, water conservancy, urban construction and modernized military engineering field. Working mechanism is the main part for earth excavation, so the performance and reliability of working mechanism become the important symbol of machine.The hydraulic excavator is the main kind of engineering mechanics. In this paper, on the basis of analyzing excavators'performance, the author develops a new powerful optimum design software for working-device of hydraulic face-shovel with the VB6.0 as development tools. The software realizes the overall optimization for the working-device of hydraulic excavator. It provides the theoretical basis and practical methods for working-device design.The main contents of this paper as the following:â‘ Analyzing the structure form and mining features of face-shovel hydraulic excavator'working device, the paper using mathematical approach analyses the movement of the boom, arm and bucket mechanism. The dynamics calculation and analysis of working device lay a theoretical foundation for next step that creating a rational mathematics model.â‘¡Using the excavating map overlap method and combining with the practical design and application experience of excavator, on the basis of analysis the dinging performance of excavator, preliminary evaluation criteria has been established. It lays the evaluation theoretical foundation for optimum design of face-shovel hydraulic excavator.â‘¢On the basis of overlap map, this paper puts forward a division of main excavating area. Counting the ratio situation of points in the main excavating area, the mathematical model of working device whole optimization has been established. The overall optimization design method of hydraulic face-shovel has been put forward.â‘£Using complex method,"The optimum design software for working-device of hydraulic face-shovel"has been programmed by VB. It has the advantage of parameter input. The optimization has been carried out by debugging program. It has been illustrated by some examples that the software are in common use and can be used in production directly.
