The research is derived from National Aerial Robotics Competition item and mainly about the miniature Aerial Robot with fixed wings. This research emphasizes the software system of Aerial Robot autopilot and the ground station software.Firstly, the paper introduced the development of Aerial Robotics and the research situation on micro autopilot in the world.Then, according to the miniature Aerial Robot's requirement, an overall plan of the autopilot based on ARM-Linux and its software system was designed. And then, according to the autopilot software scheme, a system platform based on ARM-Linux had been built, including customizing Bootloader, linux kernel, root file systems and compiling device drivers; in the following, the autopilot's flight control algorithm and the self-determined navigation algorithm were studied.By using a given aerocraft model, a series of simulations on our selected flight control algorithm and navigation algorithm were implemented. In the end, the flight control software based on ARM-Linux platform was designed, which can realize its function such as remote control and telemetry, attitude stabilized flight, autonomous navigation and so on.Finally, the ground station and its software system were developed depending on the Aerial Robot's requirement. The ground station software realized controlling the Aerial Robot by command, programming the flight path, realtime adjusting the control parameters, realtime displaying the aerocraft's flight path and gesture parameters. The software also could collect, display and save the realtime long-distance video image.
