With the development of the performance of aero-engines, more and more parameters must be got in aero-engine running on engine test-bed. At one time, the requests of the test precision and speed are getting higher and higher, the traditional method of recording test datum manually cannot satisfy the needs of the modern manufacture and the test of aero-engines. The research of application of CAT and virtual instruments in one aero-engine test has great theoretical and practical value.Firstly, the system demand analysis is carried on from the engine major technique parameters and ergonomics, and the system planning is carried on according to demand analysis's results.According to the demands of the system design, on the base of analyzing the four kinds of starting status of the aero-engine, one control hardware platform taking PLC as the core is constructed for engine staring, and a control software is compiled. After the sensors, signal conditioning equipments and data acquisition equipments is selected; the test signal acquisition channels and the signal conditioning programmes are designed. Details of PXI bus and PXI data acquisition equipments are introduced. A data acquision system is designed using PXI bus and LabWindows/CVI. The conceptual model, logistic model and physical model of the CAT system database are researched with the fundamentals of systems engineering. The engine-testing project database is established.In order to improve the anti-jamming ability of the CAT system, according to the sources and types of noises in data acquisition process, on the base of analyzing the way of the noise signals into the data acquisition system ,some methods that suppress the noise signals are used effectively at the scene of the engine-testing.Now, the CAT system is used in one aero-engine factory, and its function and technical performance meet the needs of practical applications.
