Study On Ability Improvement Of Harbin South Railway Station

Railway marshing yard, as the place of traffic distribution in the railway network, is the key node of the whole railway network circulation system. It is also a complex system including complicated production equipment, a wide range of operations, operational links between many departments and the types of work involved collaborative work. So, it also can be called train's factory. The ability of Railway marshalling yard has great effect on the operational efficiency and capacity of the entire railway system. As a result, how to improve the operating efficiency and capacity of railway marshing yard has always been taken as the important issues to research and practice.This paper mainly focuses on improving the capacity of the Harbin south station. At first, the feasibility to improve the Harbin south station was analyzed from six aspects including technical equipment, the existing transport capacity, the reliability of staff, optimizing method of organization and low-cost capacity expansion. According to this analysis, the main "bottleneck" factor was obtained in affecting the improvement of its capacity and the main existing problems were also pointed. Then, the feasible measures of strengthening the capability of Harbin south station were put forward according to the external factors caused by the adjustment of the layout of productivity arising from the change in traffic flow, and calculating results of the existing line and recomposition capacity.This paper has the actual value to improve the capacity of the Harbin south station. It is also a good reference to similar marshing yard in their improvement.
