Premature damages in semi-rigid base asphalt pavements have become a Serious problem forhighways in our country,particularly in high-temperature wet areas and heavy traffic highways.To sovle this problem , improve the durability of pavements structure,the study has been carried out on semi-rigid base and cushion.Based on analysis deeply the reasons for premature damages, the paper studys the typical semi-rigid base asphalt pavement structure. Based on the analysis of road structure, we can reached a reasonable modulus scope and the size of thickness of semi-rigid base and ther soil-modulus size.The performance of semi-rigid base is one of the main factors for durable pavement structure.To design durable semi-rigid asphalt pavement, semi-rigid base materials must have excellent crack resistance, appropriate compressive modulus, high tensile strength and good performance of the seepage. According to Multiple Indicator evaluation methods about Cement Stabilized materials based on high performance and using gray calculated decision for the these different gradations analysis,to choose the best gradation of the comprehensive road performance.The cushion is necessary to be designed to improve the situation of roadbed, because water damages are seriously in high-temperature wet areas.About it,the paper has studied the reasonable cushion materials and appropriate thickness.At last we analyse bear capacity of construction vehicles of cushion itself,and give some description about construction technology.
