Analyse And Design About The Form And Structure Of The Automobile Roof

The research presented in this paper is part of the "zhong qi" concept car design project and the 973 National Research Project—The Knowledge-base Industrial Design Assistant System. Product design is bases-on the knowledge of design. The innovation of car style comes from reasonable structure and the image of design which is expressed through the concept sketch.This research focused on the structure's character of car roof and its form design. As we all know, modern design is based on the knowledge, the access to knowledge is as the center of design activities. The acquisition of new knowledge is the assurance of product design innovation and competitiveness. The research proposed that from the structure of car roof should be related to deliver the product's image messages through the logical and reasonable structure and form design.This article is based-on the obtaining and expressing of car design knowledge. The main tools of analyse are the automobile form feature line. In this process, car aerodynamics is adapted to discuss the roof's structure of car styling. In the part of car aerodynamics, the drag and the lift of airflow, and the crosswind stability is the focus. In addition, based on the modeling characteristics of the roof's structure, the design knowledge through the car's classification and types, the scales of car roof and the style and image of car is discussed.
