With the total number of vehicle production and increases in petroleum products for the power source of the exhaust emitted by vehicles will influence the Earth's climate and the city's major source of atmospheric pollution, and energy shortage problems are more and more severe.Electric vehicles have many advantages:Electric vehicles can basically achieve zero emissions to solve the problem of environment pollution;Electric vehicles use secondary electrical energy,it is not restricted by oil resources and can use hydroelectric power, nuclear energy, solar energy and so on, accordingly it can save increasingly depleted oil resources; Electric vehicles can achieve the braking energy recovery to improve efficiency. Along with the development and progress of technology, the electric vehicle performance indicators will close to the internal combustion engine vehicles, and the price will fall down, the future of electric vehicles will become one of the advanced modes of transport.This paper mainly introduces the chassis layout of electric vehicles and the foundation of vehicle simulation modeling and the research of performance simulation. The subject of the Science and Technology Department of Jilin Province in development projects "FAW pure electric bus control system and the development of sample vehicle" high-tech major projects, committed by the FAW Bus Co., Jilin University as a collaborative units, It can speed up the progress of new product development and shorten the development cycle and reduce costs. In this paper, firstly make a brief description of the development and advantages of electric vehicles.By reading the home and foreign documents, make a detailed introduction of multibody system dynamics analysis methods and the home and foreign research actuality.At the end, combination of projects and job tasks, discuss the research projects and research significance. Make a simple introduction about the characteristic of the virtual prototyping technology software ADAMS and the function modules that ADAMS includes.Make a particular description about the analytical and computational method of software ADAMS.Combination the computational characteristic of software ADAMS,make a emphasis introduction about the reasons for divergence in the simulation process of software ADAMS and skills with which to resolve divergence.It can improve the efficiency of modeling and simulation tests.Based on mechanical system dynamics analysis software ADAMS, set up a pure electric passenger vehicle simulation model,which includes: front suspension model, rear suspension model,steering system model,brake system model,tires model, engine model, B class road model and body model. Based on the calculation of the characteristics of ADAMS software,the more leafs the Leaf Spring has,the probability of the results divergence will be greater when it calculates and it needs more time and it is easier in the simulation error.So,In order to reduce the simulation errors,adopt the single leaf spring of variable cross-section in this paper.According the test of parallel jumping,adjust the parameters of the Leaf Spring to make it consistent with the Leaf Spring Stiffness of the original vehicle. Simplify simulation model of the body as a rigid body model,which includes the parameters such as the Quality and Moment of Inertia and so an and through that make communication interface corresponding to the various sub-system model.Adopt the disc brake which the software owns.As the front and rear brake of the real car are hub brake,it need to adjust the parameters of the braking system model to simulate the braking force of the real vehicle wheel brake.Simulate the handling stability of the vehicle simulation model.Obtain simulating results after post-processing and compare with testing data.Validate that vehicle simulation model has a certain accuracy.Lay the foundation for simulation study of the pure electric passenger vehicle performance.In accordance with the principle that make full use of space and distribute the quality reasonably and reduce the changes to the original vehicle,complete three layout programs to the electric vehicle.Re-check the intensity to the drive axle housing,frame and the front and rear leaf springs in order to make sure that the intensity meets the strength requirements of the pure electric vehicle. Due to the lack of the parameters of the frame which is need to be checked,the the intensity of the frame can not be re-checked.It is proposed only as the consider object in this paper.By calculating to conduct a preliminary qualitative analysis to the performance of the vehicle. The three layout programs of the vehicle have under-steering characteristics.The less distance theβline and the line I,the higher the adhesion efficiency,the better the braking performance.So,the evaluation of the brake performance of the three programs are different when braking in road with different adhesion coefficient.It can be obtained that the ride comfort of c program is better than a and b programs by calculating the before and after the partial suspension frequency.Make a foundation for further performance simulation of the vehicle model.Make a emphasis introduction about main content and evaluation methods that vehicle handling stability and ride comfort include. In accordance with the handling stability, braking and ride comfort test methods, compile control files separately.Make simulations to the three layout programs and obtain simulating results after post-processing. It can be obtained that the handling stability of c program is better than a and b programs by comparing evaluation of the handling stability.The differences of the brake performance of the three programs are small. It also can be obtained that the ride comfort of c program is better than a and b programs by comparing root-mean-square value of vibration acceleration of the front bridge.As the improvement of the ride comfort can be achieved by improving the damping and stiffness of the seat which can be achieved more easily.In this paper select a program considered. Select the best layout by comparing simulation results,provide theoretical basis for research for the future performance of pure electric passenger vehicles.
