Domestic education of industrial design mainly adopts double-track system, parallelly developed in both Art Department and Mechanical Department, which decides universities should go different way to achieve the same educational goal in different branch of learning. It's the most important thing to make sure what design knowledge is and what design abilities include. Knowledge transfer into the ability of students is the key word in teaching. Universities should try to find way to improve knowledge transfer. This paper as follows will devote itself to professional education heart and soul. I will elaborate this subject in three parts:First of all, chapter one will make clear design ability and design knowledge. This part begins at design ability. Through the investigation of talent demand of industrial design, we set up a check system of talent demand, and then, summarize the design ability one mature industrial employee should have. In all, chapter one will get design knowledge from design ability in need.Secondly, chapter two will analyze how professional education can transfer design knowledge into design ability. This part first elaborates knowledge transfer theory. Knowledge divert is knowledge spreads in different subjects, while knowledge transfer is knowledge developments. Professional education needs both knowledge transfer and knowledge divert. Knowledge divert makes knowledge pass from the teacher to the student, and knowledge transfer makes knowledge deepen. Finally, chapter three makes a summary at the whole. At the base of knowledge transfer, this chapter makes a discovery in both professional education model and form. The available educational model is parallel development model, which takes advantage of the students themselves. This article will contrast the survey of today's universities with this parallel development model, and finally lead to cross mode, which compensates the deficiency of the students and cultivate general ability of the students.
