It is the core task of engineering education and the graduation requirement of engineering education certification to cultivate students’ ability to solve engineering problems.However,according to the investigation of the higher education teaching evaluation center of the Ministry of education,the ability of engineering students to solve engineering problems is still weak,which is a major problem to be solved in engineering education in the future.The research shows that the engineering skills,experience,intuition and engineering ethics used in solving engineering problems belong to the category of tacit knowledge,and their acquisition and transmission methods are based on the law of tacit knowledge.Therefore,to improve the ability of solving engineering problems,we must enhance the tacit knowledge.In order to improve the ability of engineering problem-solving,this paper explores how to improve the current teaching mode from the perspective of tacit knowledge through literature research,action research,investigation and other methods,so as to meet the needs of cultivating the ability of engineering problem-solving.On the basis of literature review,this paper explains that engineering problem-solving ability depends on tacit knowledge from five dimensions,and then summarizes the understanding of tacit knowledge transmission law of scholars at home and abroad,and concludes that tacit knowledge needs to be "tacit knowledge" in the real problem situation,to exercise,consolidate and improve in practice.The author then analyzes the appropriateness of the problem-based teaching model for learning tacit knowledge,analyzes the acquisition path of tacit knowledge in the problem-based teaching model,and decides to improve the classic problem-based teaching model according to the rule of tacit knowledge transmission,and introduces engineering education to cultivate students’ engineering problem-solving ability.The process of improvement is based on the classic problem-based teaching mode in the initial medical field teaching,with the abilitycultivation under the perspective of tacit knowledge as the core,through the improvement of the teaching process,making it more suitable for the needs and development of engineering education teaching,and explaining in detail the theoretical basis,teaching objectives,implementation conditions and phase of the implementation of the teaching mode The advantages and characteristics of other teaching modes.Finally,the teaching mode is implemented in the basic engineering course of the third year students majoring in civil engineering of Zhejiang University of technology,the detailed teaching design and implementation process are formulated,and the effect of the improved teaching mode is analyzed by obtaining the learning results and research data,so as to find new ideas for the cultivation of students’ engineering problem-solving ability.
