Research On Residental Blocks Based On Multiple Function Mode

The mode of "housing estate" which origins from the era of planned economy is the fundamental principle and the main form of the planning of urban community in contemporary China due to its introverted and self-integrity trait.It's from Le Cruiser's Tower in park and Perry's neighborhood unit.However as the mode of "housing estate" was widely promoted in China,it disappeared in its birthplace Europe and America.This phenomenon should raise our high attention.With the innovation of economy system and the change of the property of city,this pattern shows itself in much deficiency.It interrupts the complete structure of the city;obstructs the traffic;makes the scene of different city become similar; and not suitable to live.What's more,the "housing estate" implies the wasting resources and it is an unsustainable pattern:the single function for living makes people dependent on motor vehicles too much;and because of the users are limited,the utilization of common facilities is in low-efficiency;the capacious scale caused the waste of the land in the city.These problems revealed the limited resources couldn't fit for the pattern of housing estate.Because of the national conditions of China,people are obliged to find a more effective mode for city and residential.This paper points out the problems to the living structure of city in contemporary China, and then analysis the essence of the city,the challenges and the opportunities that China has to face.It introduces "multiple functions" mode.Based on the investigation of several communities in Dali an,the article made the viewpoint that we should change the concept and method of the planning mode of community currently----design on residential blocks.The new concept eyes the community and the city as a whole,follows the frame of urban planning and landscape planning.The structure between community and the city is netlike.The article focuses on the penetration and integration between residential quarters and cities rather than on how to design the residential unit.It provides the solutions to the worrisome about the security and noise problems.It also analysis the external space designs of street spaces,the pocket parks,gardens and squares.The last part of this article analysis the progress of the present residential block,and problems will be occurred in its development and statistic to the problems.It also prospects for the development of the residential block.
