This paper established the finite element model of a domestic heavy truck's frame and analyzed the static stress. The simulation form of rivet connection was analyzed and discussed, which is mainly joint part of heavy truck's frame. The static and dynamic tests of heavy truck were carried on. And the simulation results of static stress of the heavy truck's frame were compared with the test data. It was used to verify the reliability and usability of the finite element model. The main content and achievements of this paper are list as follow:(1) Combining the researching results and relevant experience from both domestic and abroad, the development of establishing and analysing finite element model of frame, the studying goal and significance were discussed;(2) The elementary structure theory of finite element method was introduced and the basic knowledge of Hypermesh was presented;(3) The main matters considered in the process of establishing the frame's finite element model were discussed. And the basic process of establishing model was introduced;(4) The simulation form of rivet connection was discussed, which is mainly joint part of heavy truck's frame;(5) According to the frame's finite element model, the analysis of static stress was carried on;(6) The static and dynamic tests of heavy truck were carried on. The experimental results have offered the practical basis for the finite element analysis and verified the reliability and usability of the finite element model.The creative part of this paper is the comparison and discussion of the four kinds of simulation form for rivet connection by an example. And the differences of simulation results were discussed. Because the frame structure is complex and the number of rivet is numerous, the rigid connection form was used to simulate the rivet connection for the convenient of establishing model and highly effective of computing in this paper.
