As the construction of domestic expressway develops rapidly, more and more expressway need maintenance, so that the maintenance funds are relatively in short of supply and the quality of maintenances is low. Asphalt pavement is the main structural style of expressway in China; however its early disrepair is relatively common, which is a main task of maintenance. Compared with traditional maintenance style, preventive maintenance is an active maintenance pattern that can fulfill the requirement of current maintenance much better. Thus, it is necessary to address the preventive maintenance of asphalt pavement.The thesis has conducted the research to the expressway asphalt pavement preventive maintenance decision-making. The main achievement of this thesis are briefly mentioned as follows: Firstly, analyzes the technical and economic benefits of asphalt pavement preventive maintenance, which aims to answer the question"why should we utilize preventive maintenance instead of maintaining afterwards".Through the analysis present asphalt pavement operational performance's evaluating indicator system, for the adaptation highway road surface operational performance's appraisal, makes the improvement to the present appraisal system. According to the disadvantages of currently utilized models, a comprehensive forecasting method is then proposed to forecast the performance of pavement.Taking the pavement performance index (PQI) as the opportunity index, to define the preventive maintenance opportunity. Analyze the asphalt pavement preventive maintenance existing measure and their serviceability.And summarize the preventive maintenance measure decision-making's influencing factor, the principle and the method.In order to take into account the project-specific factors, a multi-hierarchy fuzzy decision model is finally formulated to decide the final preventative maintenance measure of asphalt pavement.
