In this paper, the solar battery performance test system based on virtual instrument technology is designed. The NI PCI-6221 data collection card has been used to build the system to test the performance parameters of the solar battery. By using the LabVIEW program to control the PCI-6221, the system has the functions of solar battery voltage and current data collection, display, store and analyze. The software can also draw the V-I feature curve and the power feature curve of the solar battery base on the collected data to get the best working voltage and current value as well as the maximum power value. It also researched the maximum power tracing method and finished the simulative lighting test experiment under different load resistor and different lighting intensity. The test results show the solar cell output has non-linear features and varies with the external environment changes.
