With the development of computer application technology, virtual instrumenttechnology emerge as the times require. Virtual instrument technology to realize theperfect fusion of the instrument and the computer, which is the combination ofinstrument technology and computer application technology.It enable the computer tothe concrete function of the instrument and fully embodies the superiority of thecomputer.People’s demand for energy grow with each passing day, but the reserves ofenergy fossil that is the main structure of energy are limited. The contradictionbetween the quantity of energy demand and the reserves is more and more serious,how to solve the contradiction is imminent. Therefore, the development of newenergy is very necessary. Faced with many kinds of new energy, the advantages ofsolar energy of no pollution, large reserves is being paid more and more attention, andsolar energy resources development has become the consensus of all countries.Whether a solar power station can be built, many factors should be taken intoconsideration. Power generation is the primary factor to consider. Solar power plantsis closely related to solar irradiance, therefore collection and analysis of the solarirradiance data has the very vital significance.The design of the solar irradiance measurements makes in the LabVIEWdevelopment platform, using the virtual instrument technology, making solarirradiance values in the design can be preserved for a long time and be analysed.Combined with soft and the hardware system, the design can store and analyse thedata of solar irradiance and temperature. The system as a whole can be divided intotwo parts. One part is the lower part of the system, which is mainly responsible for thecollection, sending the external temperature and solar irradiance data. The other partis upper computer system, which uses the technology of virtual instrument, achievingthe instrument function in the PC machine, doing data storage and analysis. The lowercomputer system and PC to form the hardware platform of virtualinstrument.Software components working procedure and system written in LabVIEWconstitute the system software. Software, PC and data acquisition hardware form acomplete data collection, storage, analysis, display of complete system. The data acquisition system for the analysis of whether an area of solar energycan be developed and utilized has practical significance. The system is reliable andhas been verified in the simulation software—Proteus.
