The automobile dynamical and fuel economic characteristic are very important and basic performance,a good match of the powetrain is well for improving the power and the fuel economy,meanwhile reducing emissions with significant results. In the past,we evaluated the results after the road testing,if the result was not good,we had to go back to modify the design,then it will cost a lot of time and money. But now with the development of the automobile technology and computer,besides the customer's request and the market competition,the simulation of the dynamical and fuel economic characteristic should be start at concept phrase,then we can save a lot of money and time,at the same time we can forecast the performance of the car.In order to guarantee the vehicle to run normally under different condition and have good power performance and fuel economy, the chief function of the vehicle power train system design is matching power between engine and each part of drive line. Establishing the dynamic model of powertrain system is the foundation of the vehicle design, matching and performance research. Because of the inconvenience due to the complicated modeling and time-consuming debugging, the adoption of professional software to accomplish modeling and simulation research is not only timesaving and makes the modeling process simplified, but also assures the program to run reliably with convenient debugging and exact results. The GT-DRIVE is used in this paper to simulate power performance and fuel economy of a microbus, and the results are analyzed through comparing to the experimental results. Further more, the parameters of the power train are optimized by using the simulation results, establishing the foundation on improving the automatic mechanic transmission system. The concrete research contents are listed as follows:1,Discussing the tradition evaluation of the automobile's power performance and the economy performance, and investigates a series of comparable evaluation that estimate the automobile's power performance and economy performance synthetically. It can report the exerting degree of the automobile's performance between the real working station and the ideal working station of the engine, further more, it evinces the way to improve the power performance and the economy performance.2,The function, and its characteristics, the program construction and application of the GT-DRIVE are studied. Aim at the transmission control in mirobus,the control model is chosen, and the setting, choice and adjustment of parameters and performance are accomplished.3,Using GT-DRIVE to establish the optimization mathematical model between the engine and the power train of the automobile, based on this, using the GT-DRIVE to calculate the power performance and the economy performance of the microbus by simulating.4,Through the simulation data and experimental results comparison, then analyses the result which shows the feasibility and the practicality of the GT-DRIVE software. At last the author gives some pieces of advice to go on working on this object.
