As an important component of Beijing power grid load centre,the Beijing Urban power grid shoulders security tasks of the capital's electricity supply for political activities. Approaching activities of important international influence such as the 2008 Olympic Games, the 60th anniversary of founding of the PRC in 2009,the safety and reliability of Beijing grid has been put forward higher requirement,great attention has been paid by the party and state, Mayer Wang Qishan made important instructions about creating high-reliable power grids: "small probability" incident should also be taken some measures to avoid,in order to ensure the absolute safety of the Olympic Games Network,and control of the network risk.Based on the results of the evaluation and the analysis of the current status of urban grid, the paper formulates the reform solutions that are available for reference to urban power distribution network planning in middle and short term.The paper develops the evaluation principles and criteria for Beijing urban grid as well.Among which,the research reflects the utility and feasibility of the power network evaluation.
