Marine Engine Room Simulator,the general name of engine room simulation training system,is modernization navigation education and training facility which is ased for training the marine engineers.Because of the development of the world shipping industry and the improvement of the science and technology,the difficulty of operating the large and automatic ship is constantly increasing and the technical requirements for ship managers are higher.For all of these reasons,the International Maritime Organization(IMO) stipulates it clearly in STCW(International Convention on Standards of Training Certification and Watching for Seafarers) that the engineers must be trained via the artification simulator.The main power system is one of the indispensable core systems of modern ships, and also an essential part of the marine engine room simulator.This is a part of work for a new generation of the PC-based engineering simulator.The main task is to display main power's running parameters and curves,for example,p_z-V_z indicator diagram,p_z-φindicator diagram,combustion temperature curve T_z-φ,diesel engine speed curve n-t,turbocharger speed curve ntc-t,exhaust temperature curve T_e - t,scavenging air curve T_s - t,exhaust air pressure curve p_e - t,scavenging air pressure curve p_s - t etc.Taking the new teaching and training ship YUKUN of DMU as the model ship, basing on the working principle of the main power propulsion system,thermodynamics and aerodynamics,using the multi-modeling methods of the filling-and-emptying mathematic method,the trial formula method and trial datum revision method,the model of the marine main power propulsion system for MAN B&W 6S35MC,NA40/S exhaust turbo charger and VBS980 propeller is established.Based on the mathematic model,the SIMULINK software is selected as the simulation tool to simulate.Simulation results are compared with experimental data. The results prove the model is correct and effective. Finally,using the Visual Studio.NET 2005 as the development environment, visualizing computer programming language Visual C# as the programming tool and using GDI+ to establish the control-library,to accomplish the design simulation software of the marine power system.Using numeric algorithms of C# to simulate the main power system,and the last results prove the simulation datas are essentially identical with the experimental datas.After analysis,design and coding,the marine main power propulsion system simulator can show the major parameters and curves in time and has the function of friendly interface.So the marine main power propulsion system simulator can meet training requirements perfectly.
