Because of the topography and economic conditions, There are many continuous and long downgrades inevitably in mountainous expressway. In order to improve the traffic safety satuation of continuous and long downgrades segment in mountainous expressway, Truck Escape Ramp is the most effective engineering measures of the current solutions to traffic safety problem of a continuous and long downgrades segment.In this paper, Relying on traffic science and technology projects in Yunnan Province—Research on Safety Technology of General Operational in Mountainous Expressway. Through analysis methods of the real vehicle test and numerical analysis, And combination with research results at home and abroad, Analysis operation rules of the out-of-control vehicles to enter Truck Escape Ramp, Systematically expounded technical methods of principle of setting position, angle, length, slope, materials, facilities of anti-collision , facilities of energy dissipation and auxiliary facilities of traffic safety,etc.In this paper, Reserch on the key aspects following: 1) Through safety analysis of continuous and long downgrades segment, combination of vehicles performance, Analysis of settings problems of Truck Escape Ramp in mountainous expressway, Puts forward an setting principles of Truck Escape Ramp; 2) Through theoretical analysis, put forward the linear design principles of Truck Escape Ramp, the formula for calculating the length of approach roads and braking bed; 3) Systematic analysis of setting principles of the service lane, anti-collision facilities and facilities of energy dissipation in the end; 4)Through research on real vehicle tests, Analysis of the operation rules of out-of-control vehicles at Truck Escape Ramp under the influence factors of vehicle weight, road materials, road bed slope, etc; 5) Through PFC(Particle Flow Code) numerical simulation, Verify the feasibility of numerical simulation. Analysis on operation rules of out-of-control vehicle at Truck Escape Ramp.Finally, The use of research results in this paper, combined with Shui-Ma expressway in Yunnan Province, has set up a number of Truck Escape Ramp, Achieved good results, proved that Truck Escape Ramp setting is reasonable, There is an important guiding significance for design of Truck Escape Ramp.
