Research On Road Tunnel Speed Management Based On Safety And Energy Saving & Emission Reduction

With China's rapid development of road transportation, the highway classification enhanced unceasingly, the mileage of road in use climbed by years, which pulling highway construction become the pillar industry in national economic growth. The tunnel obtains the universal application, because it can reduce journey mileage, improve linear standards, safeguard operation security, protect ecological environment, and so on. The construction is becoming longer and longer, the scale is also getting bigger.In the highway tunnel operating management, security, environmental protection, energy saving and efficient management is pursuing.The speed is controling conditions of traffic safety & energy saving and emission reduction, Studying on traffic speed is the issue of practical application to solve problem of traffic safety and energy saving and emission reduction.This paper is studying on the tunnel speeed, exploring on the obtaining the best road tunnel speed value by the traffic safety and energy saving & emission reduction.This paper is the sub-topic of the science and technology projects of western construction which is named as "the Crosshead of Comprehensive Technological Research on Safety and Energy Saving of Expressway Tunnel (Group) in the Hu-Rong-Xi scientific research project" assumed by CHONGQING COMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH & DESIGN INSTITUTE. This paper uses the theoretical anlaysis and simulation methods, analyzed the relationship between the speed and safety, the speed and energy saving & emission reduction, established the speed controling model by safety and energy saving & emission reduction for road tunnel. Through the model we can get a safety speed. It is simulated by the Synchro Simtraffic software.The established speed model codsiders safety cost factor and energy saving & emission reduction cost factor, it will provide new ideas and reference for speed management of safety and energy saving & emission reduction. The safety speed is raised, will give the direction of study on the tunnel safety and energy saving & emission reduction management measures.
