As a public transport facility in urban, bus stop is the basic link between passengers and transport services. It is also an important and indispensable part of transit systems that completes its service. Bus stop should meet the requirements of buses' parking and passengers' aboarding and alighting. If the bus stop is lack of capacity, it would not meet the requirements of buses' parking and passengers' aboarding and alighting, and also it would affect the whole transit systems, even it would let bus stop be the bottleneck of time and space. In this dissertation, the study on calculation model of bus stop capacity is based on two service levels of platform waiting area and expressway. In the end of the paper, the model passes the authentication by the example and data, and the paper gets the conclusions. The main methods and productions include:(1) Summarize the researches of the impact of bus operating and parking on capacity of traffic flow and intersection at home and abroad. And the studies on size of bus stop are also summarized in the paper. They are both paving the way for the paper.(2) Summarize the basic forms of bus stop, and the related concepts and standards on platform waiting area and expressway are also summarized.(3) The paper studies the relationship between the different sizes of bus stop and the line capacity on the certain service level.(4) The paper studies the capacity of bus stop on the different traffic volumes and traffic flow speeds. On the base of impedance function, the paper establishes the model on the relationship between bus parking time and traffic-flow speed. It also calibrates the related parameters, and finally calculates results.(5) As a linear bus stop, Jimenqiaoxi bus stop is set as an example. Firstly, the paper calculates the numbers of bus lines in theory through the survey and data processing. Secondly, the paper calibrates the parameters on the conditions of high-speed and low-speed separately. Thirdly, it calculates the capacity on different traffic-flow speed.This dissertation studies on the capacity of bus stop from the different view. The method provides the basis for design of bus stop.
