Several newly asphalt pavement typical structures were proposed in this thesis to solve the problem of the early damage to expressway asphalt pavement in Hunan Province.First of all, the common structure and common damage types of the expressway asphalt pavement in Hunan province were summed up through the investigation on Hunan province's expressway asphalt pavement structure and the problems of the early damage. We analyzed the causes of the damage in early time expressly; all the research fruits were used to provide a basis of the establishment of the typical asphalt pavement structure.Then we summarized and analyzed the characteristics of the climate of Hunan province, consummated the road natural secondary divisions of the Hunan Province. Surveyed the traffic and the state of axle on the highway in Hunan Province, made the Hunan Province traffic classification, we also classified the earth subgrade strength by investigating the situation of earth subgrade strength in all regions of Hunan province and analyzing the different earth subgrade intensity's impact to the thickness of pavement.Thirdly, we made reasonable mechanical analysis on several most commonly used asphalt pavement structures at home and abroad, computing the design deflection, cumulative equivalent axle loads, the stress and strain of pavement structure. Analysized the mechanical response of different structural types, all these results were used to provide a credible theoretical basis for the construction of typical asphalt pavement structure in Hunan province.The forth contribution of this thesis is the newly expressway typical asphalt pavement structure especially designed for Hunan province road, it is proposed by summing up lessons on the construction of highway asphalt pavement at home and abroad. We finally used computer software to compute the thickness of pavement under different road traffic levels and different earth subgrade intensity grades, and then mapped all these things.
