With the rapid development of the economy and the improving of people's living standards, especially the deepening of industrialization, people in large and medium-sized cities are increasing rapidly, and the traffic of city is becoming more and more pressed. And the pavement traffic has been far from meet the demand of urban traffic. Urban rail transit has been used wildly because of its advantages, such as high-speed, energy saving, environmental protection, economy, etc. The main difference of various urban rail transit vehicles is the bogie. Because of articulated bogie's particularity, it has many advantages, such as low noise operation, excellent curving performance, good stability, etc. Bogie frame as a key structural component of bogie, the structural strength and fatigue life are widely concerned.Articulated bogie is designed with the main technical parameters. The form of the primary suspension, the secondary suspension, foundation brake rigging and traction equipment are designed preliminarily. And the structure of the bogie frame is designed detailedly. And the static stress analysis, quasi-static stress analysis and modal analysis of the bogie frame have been done. Next, the bogie frame fatigue strength is evaluated with the method basing on the standard of UIC-ORE Code. The result indicated that the static strength and fatigue strength of the bogie frame can meet the requirment of UIC515-4 Code.Because the requirement of the lighenting design of the bogie frame become more and more seriously, the methods of fatigue analysis basing on the thought of infinite fatigue life can meet the demand no longer. Fatigue strength of the bogie frame is analyzed with the result of quasi-static stress analysis and the load histories which were used to evaluate the bogie frame fatigue life would be obtained by the dynamic performance simulation under the typical vehicle operation condtions using the SIMPACK software. And fatigue strength of the main body of bogie frame is reanalyzed with the fatigue load histories of UIC515-4 Code. Finally, comparation between the results which are from the above-mentioned twice calculation is analyzed. The result indicated that the weak departments of the bogie frame which are obtained by the above-mentioned twice calculation are consistent.
