Main girder is the main bearing member of boiler steel structure, which bears all of the vertical loads of boiler. The finite element method and commercial software ANSYS are used to analyze the static characteristic and overall stability of main girder of boiler steel frame structure, and the Code for design of Steel Structures (GB50017-2003) are applied to check the analysis result in this paper. There are two ways used in the layout of the bolts located in the overlapping section of main girder, one is the respective sub-layout, and the other is the isometric layout, and the recommend-reference is provided for the similar projects of steel structures.In main girder static analysis, the three-dimensional model is established according to the actual instance and members dimension. The mechanical behavior of the structure is analyzed considering the dead loads, live loads and their combination, and the recommend-reference is provided for the actual design.In main girder overall stability analysis, finite element method is used to calculate the first and second buckling modes and eigenvalues, and the results indicated that the stability of main girder is reliable.Taking advantage of code for design of steel structure (GB50017-2003), it is concluded that the capacity of local stability of main girder meet the requirements of the strength and stability.Bolts of the overlapping section of main girder are calculated and arranged by using the respective sub-layout and the isometric layout. It provides the reference to the future layout of bolts in the overlapping section of main girder.
