As an important renewable energy,Biomass has been attracting more and more attention. At present the use of biomass energy are on the critical stage of the transition from research to application. How to achieve the scientific and rational use of biomass energy, not only related to technology applications, but to the system and overall problems. All of which are also the basis of this paper.As the command of ideas and methods for the paper, the comprehensive and in-depth interpretation and analysis for the utilization of biomass energy has been firstly given from the way of systems engineering. The logic decomposition to the key issues in the process of the design and implementation for the biomass has been taken from the macro, mesne and micro-scale. The framework of the research system for Biomass energy systems engineering has been proposed.As the entry point of the research on biomass, the "initial conditions" have been comprehensively analyzed from the three aspects of Chinese geographical picture for biomass utilization, resources supply system and the impact factors, which has been provided a theoretical basis for the guide on the utilization of biomass energy in macro level.The Comparative Study on the different technologies for biomass utilization is the main content of this paper. on the basis of the effective classification, the comprehensive comparative analysis have been done from the aspects such as technical characteristics,the status of application,economic,development bottlenecks and development foreground, which has been laid factual basis for further comprehensive evaluation in mesne level.The technical and economic evaluation for different utilization system of biomass energy is the core content of this paper. The law-weighted total evaluation model based on Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)has been built, three evaluation criteria has been determined which is the applicability of technology,economic viability and environment-friendly, and the nine indicators such as supply of resources,equipment and technology,energy efficiency,energy grade,cost of production,economic benefits, ecological impact,environmental pollution,and social benefits have been set down. The comprehensive evaluation on various biomass energy systems has been done, which can be used to provide an important reference for guiding future utilization.The actual case which is the feasibility report on 15 MW biomass gasification power generation project also have been studied by the paper. The problems and shortcomings existed in the options for current optimal system has been pointed out, meanwhile the corresponding improvements and suggestions have been provided, and the economic comparison for 15 MW, 3MW, 1MW three gasification power generation systems have been offered.Finally, on the basis of summarizing the advantages and disadvantages of biomass energy utilization systems, the future direction of development for biomass has been pointed out, a line of thinking for setting the further development courses has been given. According to the research, the scope of the study on the biomass energy utilization systems has been expanded, the theoretical system for biomass energy has been enriched in some extent.The conclusions and recommendations have the general value for offering the important reference to guide the development of biomass utilization in the current stage for China.
