The control technique of power electronics equipment is developed based on the development of power electronics technology. The development of microprocesser and its peripheral circuits make a number of issues which exist in digital control technology continuously improved. And also the system control function implemented by the analog control technology is gradually replaced by digital control technology. In the wake of the electric power semiconductor component continuously developing to the high frequency, high efficiency and the intelligentization orientation, the performance requirements of power electronics control system is also higher. At present, in many application situations, the common controller (as high-performance single-chip or Digital Signal Processer (DSP)) performance is frequently not fully meet the requirements.In the past few years, with the rapid development of large-scale integrated circuits, programmable logic devices continue to stride forward to a high level of integration, high speed and low-cost direction with enlarging applications in the area of signal processing. In comparision with Single-chip and DSP, Field Programmable Gate Array/Complicated Programmabe Logic Device (FPGA/CPLD) component has greater processing speed, higher reliability. For programmable logic device with flexible designment, high degree of integration, high speed, short cycle of designment, and other outstanding advantages, this paper proposed to apply the device to power electronics control technology in order to meet the requirement of High-performance applications situation.This paper first discussed the basic principles and methods to implement of Space Vector Pulse Width Module (SVPWM). In the designment, the mathematical tool MATLAB was applied to analyse the used algorithm and issues involved in it. And complete the algorithm simulation by Matlab/Simulink. Afterwards analyzed the structure, the superiority and the development process of FPGA, furthermore put forward the principle and realization means that using programmable logic device FPGA implement SVPWM controller. In the work, this paper adopted Very High speed Hardware Description Language(VHDL)and finished the designment of SVPWM signal generator based on FPGA.In addition the respective modules of system and the whole system were simulated and tested by MAX+plus one after another. Through the specific analysis and verification, this paper confirmed the advantages of programmable logic device used in power electronic control technology. At last I verified the correctness of the design.
