Substation is one of the most important parts of the electricity-transporting system. Training of the operator is one of the key methods to keep the substation safety and continuous operation. Compared with usual training system, virtual training system using computer simulation technology and multi-media virtual technology has more advantages, such as maneuverability and flexibility. It became the mainstream of operator training in this field immediately. According to the analysis of the old training system of substation, this paper introduces a new distributed training system based on information security. The goals of this paper are promoting the system's information security and extendibility.The modules of this training system are developed by UML based on the system requirements and function designing. In order to developing a platform-independent system, this paper uses the structure of STRUTS in main module. By developing the virtual training system, it could be used in different substation. This makes the system has more universality and extendibility. This system uses the structure of STRUTS to promote the information security. Using the technique of RBAC and X.509, this paper builds the structure of role-playing control database access system. By dividing the system into two sub-system—role-based access control in authentication sub-system and role-based access agent sub-system, it promote the safety of whole system effectively. Through effective resources sharing and reuse, this paper uses relational database to make the interactive between the system and users, and set up a serials simulation data. Using this data the system could reappearance the real operational conditions of the transformer substation and immune the attacks of the internet.At present, the system had been put into use in Ningxia Shizuishan substation. The actual operation shows that the system is stable and convenient, with good realistic simulation environment, greatly increasing the efficiency of training.
