Bridge Management System Based On DER&U Assessment Method And B/S Software Framework

With the rapid development of the society and civil engineering techniques, more and more bridges have been built, and more attention has been drawn to the safety, durability and serviceability of these existing bridges. The Bridge Management System (BMS) has been introduced and got rapid development, which makes the BMS becoming one of the research focuses of academic and engineering all over the world.After analysing and discussing the Bridge Condition Assessment Method and the Bridge Management System Framework, the DER&U assessment method, which was applicable to highway network, was adopted to evaluate the existing bridge's condition assessment. Bridge Management System was developmented by technology of Visual Studio and Sql Server. Following researchs and conclusions were carried out.Firstly, some typical assessment methods were reviewed; their advantages and disadvantages were discussed.Secondly, the DER&U assessment method was detailly introduced and its application field was also discussed. Based on the different effect of each component in the overall serviciabilty of bridge the assessment indice of them are determined.Thirdly, the weights of the bridge components were determined by referening relative research and their data, and the current assessment model was established base on the current specification, "Code for Maintenance of Highway Bridges and Culvers". Furthermore, grading standards of each index was also carried out. The score of bridge was calculated according to the theory of Variable Weight Synthesizing in order to reckon the bridge condition level.Finally, compared with C/S framework bridge management system, the concept of B/S framework bridge management system was introduced, and the application of B/S framework technology in bridge management system was studied. Module of bridge management system which validated it with example was compiled in this thesis.
