Earthquake is one of the nature disasters which can not resist today, and it has caused enormous and immeasurable loss of properties and lives. 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake in China caused huge casualties and economic loss. Under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission, national people rise on the disaster, and achieved a historic victory. However residential building of villages and towns, deficiency in earthquake prevention and disaster reduction has given us a profound lesson.In this paper, the Three Gorges reservoir area Fengjie County as an example, a sample survey of rural housing in the area of seismic fortification situation. Fengjie County survey shows the majority of towns and villages of prefabricated housing structure is mainly of brick and built the farm buildings. And it does not consider the factor about Anti-earthquake and Precaution; Construction skills are generally low, especially part of the site unscientific, unstable foundation, and non-earthquake resistance protection。Although some houses have earthquake protection, these houses are broken easily, especially some houses were built in remote mountain area, the earthquake protection of these houses is very pool. All of these house were built with wood, a small number of were built with brick, have non-earthquake protection.By analyzing the Fengjie background, combining local geological, hydrological and other related data, this thesis analyzes the dangers probability of earthquake geological in Fengjie, puts forward the indicators for residential building,s seismic disaster reduction. The study Combines the type of residential construction in Fengjie County towns and villages and the status of seismic fortification, including planning and site selection, design and Construction, the quality and safety and so on, finds out local residential, problems about earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, advances the measures of construction and strategies of precaution, to enhance the residential,s anti-seismic capability and promote safe work of the construction of rural residential areas.
