Design And Realization Of A Mechanical Characteristics Tester For Vacuum Circuit Breaker Based On ARM And Linux

With the widely use of vacuum circuit breaker, There is an urgent need for appropriate test equipment to test the state of vacuum circuit breaker in order to facilitate the staff to safeguard vacuum circuit breaker. At present, the test equipments on the market generally have some shortcomings, there is necessary for locomotive depot's electric locomotive to design a high-precision, high-performance, easy to operate vacuum circuit breaker's mechanical characteristic testing equipment.The paper first introduces the vacuum circuit breaker's working principle and its mechanical characteristics'testing technology, then proposes the overall scheme design of testing equipment, and then according to the system's functional requirements, the instrument's hardware,operation system and application software are choosen and analyzed. Hardware using ARM core processor, combined with data acquisition card, LCD touch screen, micro-printer and so on peripherals set up the instrument's hardware platform. Software, by cutting down Linux-2.6.10 kernel, making Embedded Linux root file system, creating bootloader and other steps, Embedded Linux operation system is constructed. For data acquisition card and micro-printer, the corresponding Linux drivers are papared, and then use Qt/E to write a graceful control interface which has a good performance in human-computer interaction. After that MySQL is used to write program which realizes test results'storage, inquiry and transfer. Finally, Qt/E, MySQL, Linux drivers and application programs are transplanted to the ARM target platform and through the debugging.The latest development embedded technology is applied to achieve a high-precision, high-performance, networking test instrument. The instrument has small size, high reliability, low-power, low-cost hardware resources, Open source software free and so on characteristics. Now the test instrument is applied in electric locomotive depot in DaQing HuDong, it's easy to operater and perform stably, so it has high practical value in the future.
