| Due to the increased demand of the channel dredging and the projects of filling the sea to build the factory, the cutter suction dredgers designed and built in domestic play an important role in the port construction and ocean development. The cutter suction dredger is a water construction equipment whose system is complex and technical content is high. There are a lot of key design techniques and difficulties in the design process. One important reason is the forces put on the cutter suction dredger are very complex, which affects the selection of the design parameters very much. Now the research on the loads has not been systematism, many design parameters can only be selected according to the experience and are not dependable. The cutter suction dredger develops to large-scale gradually. The exact calculation of the load is particularly important.This thesis refer to part of the research achievement both in domestic and overseas, uses the related knowledge, such as hydrodynamics, theoretics mechanics, material mechanics, elasticity mechanics etc. to carry out systemic analysis for the main loads of the cutter suction dredger. When calculate the wave load of the hull, predigest the cutter suction dredger to box-type ship, use regular wave theory, acquire good effect. When calculate the wave and current load, make vector resultant velocity for the current and water particle, adopt the Morrison formula, calculate the wave and current loads together. Finally, introduce the outside forces calculation software of the cutter suction dredger, use this software to calculate one real ship, compare and analyze the calculation result and the actual result.Through the research of this thesis, basically form relatively integrated load calculation method, the outside forces calculation software compiled on the basis of it, obtains the relatively exact result, can supply the basis for the design parameters selection and the structure calculation.
