The rapid expansion of National Economic and city population has caused the continuous soaring of vehicle number, which applies enormous pressure to the city transportation system. Same problem occurs in both developing and developed countries and severely affect the city development and management Similar to other developed countries such as Japan, Europe and USA, China shows serious regards to the research of public traffic information technology and develop its own Intelligent traffic System (ITS). The system revolutions traditional concept by replacing the fundamental facility building model by the new technology and efficiency enhancement model, which can effectively optimize social resources and hence sustain the fast expansion of city economics. Research tells the development of a good public traffic service network can reform peoples' transportation habit thus solve the city traffic jam occasion from the fundamental basis.The primary goal of ITS is to ensure the "Zero traffic Jam in Foshan" by improving the traffic data gathering system to build a more sophisticated database; enhancing the data sharing platform to strengthen its information service ability; and finally building Intelligent logistic and management system to ensure the high efficiency of traffic management.The highlights of this thesis are as below:1. To analyzes the development stages and current status of City traffic information system and Intelligent logistic and management system in China; to conclude the importance of city traffic information system by consolidating and analyzing statistic data of other developed countries and China.2. To illustrate what the minimum requirement of the intelligent logistic and management system can fulfill.3. To discuss the design and the implementation of intelligent logistic and management system; also provides detail functions of its the core components including traffic information centre, public intelligent logistic management system, intelligent electronic sign system, intelligent logistic management subsidiary system, electronic sign subsidiary system, crisis management system, long distance traffic management system, city taxi management system and together with road traffic management and vehicle management databases.4. To illustrate the implementation and its prerequisites of traffic information system. The public traffic intelligent management system is the core build up of traffic information system. It is an important solver of China traffic problem by improving the public traffic service quality and reforming the population transportation habit.
