With the rapid development of urban economics,the scale of urban street networks becomes larger and larger,and the structure of urban traffic systems is more and more complicated.However,the development of traffic systems is still difficult to meet the increasing traffic demand of people that traffic problems become more and more serious.Urban traffic geographical information system provides powerful supports for solving traffic problems,including optimizing the structure of street networks,realizing dynamic traffic guidance and studying traffic behaviors of human beings.Therefore,developing high-efficient urban traffic GIS systems has become an important work of intelligent traffic system(ITS).Based on this,with considering the widely existing urban traffic problems and taking the Chengdu city street network for the research,this paper studied the strengths of urban traffic GIS and the existing shortcomings according to the structural complexity of street networks and time-varying characteristic of traffic flow,designed and developed an urban traffic geographical information system(T-GIS)by using the key techniques of the ComGIS,dynamic traffic guidance,traffic accessibility analysis,position layout and street network reliability evaluation,etc.The research contents of this paper are detailed as follows:1?The key techniques of urban traffic GIS were analyzed deeply.This paper illursted the basic idea and implementation process of ComGIS,dynamic traffic guidance,traffic accessibility and position layout,and studied the real meaning of these techniques in the analysis of urban street networks.On the basis of this,this paper presented the algorithm process of dynamic path selecting with considering distance and traffic congestion,the basis ideas of traffic accessibility analysis,position layout and reliability analysis of street networks.2?This paper completed the demand analysis of the urban traffic geographical information system and presented the overral design schemeof the system.Then,this paper realized the detailed design of the T-GIS and discussed the basic GIS functions and the traffic GIS functions,which guaranteed the feasibility and practicability of the system.3?This paper studied the data forms of T-GIS,including street networks,public traffic system networks,traffic facilities,traffic signal equipments,dynamic traffic flow data,etc.Based on this,the data warehouse for T-GIS was established that the storage relationship between spatial data and attribute data was described in detail.4?With using the ArcGIS Engine platform,this paper developed the urban traffic geographical information system,presented the basic GIS functions and some important traffic GIS functions,including the static and dynamic path selecting analysis,traffic accessibility,position layout,fault propagation analysis of streets and reliability evaluation analysis of street networks,etc.
