Each year, numerous asphalt pavements need reconstructing. The old way to remove the old pavement and rebuild a new one will produce masses of waste materials. The adoption of recycling technology which could reutilize pavement materials is in accordance with the present trend toward sustainable development. On the base of accepting recent research achievements and future advances in reusing reclaimed asphalt mixture of asphalt pavements, the paper was written by studying hot recycling techmque of old asphalt mixture on expressway. Firstly, the paper analyzed the technological characteristics of old asphalt mixture through investigation and tests. Secondly, through analyzing the mechanism of asphalt aged and recycled, the paper put forward the requirement of recycling agent and confected a new recycling agent. Then the paper proved the performance and ascertained the dosage of the recycling agent. The mixture design of recycled asphalt mixture with different RAP was processed through analyzing its characters. The performance of recycled asphalt mixture, indexing high temperature performance, low temperature performance, moisture sensitivity and long-term performance, was compared with the fresh asphalt mixture. Moreover, the thesis delved into the construction technics and quality control of the hot recycling technique. The economical and social benefit of hot plant recycling technique was also analyzed in this paper. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | pavement recycling, reclaimed asphalt pavement, recycling agent, recycling mechanism, recycled asphalt mixture, hot plant recycling technology, mixture design, pavement performance | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
