Traditional semi-rigid asphalt pavements were used widely for its high load-bearing and low cost. But with the rapid development of the modern traffic, lots of problems were revealed,showing a certain inadaptability. The paper refers to the foreign theory about long-life asphalt pavement design. By analyzing the adaptability of basement and reserching on the integration of basement design and construction of long-life asphalt pavement,the paper proposes a type of basement that is fit for our traffic conditions,supplies of materials,construction level and environment. It has great significance to research and promote long-life asphalt pavement in China.The paper begins with investigation, analyses the domestic and international asphalt pavement structure and use of basement, researches on the existing problems and their causes of asphalt pavement in China from the aspect of structure,material,construction and others . Through learning the good performance of foreign long-life asphalt pavement design concepts, considering the domestic economic conditions, traffic conditions, resource utilization and other factors, proposes the basement technical requirements of long-life asphalt pavement. From the load-bearing capacity, fatigue life and other aspects,the paper analyses the adaptability of three types of typical basements,which involves rigid basement,flexisble basement and semi-rigid basement.By comprehensive analyzing, semi-rigid base is more cost-effective and easily replicable. Construction in different seasons of semi-rigid material has different mechanical properties,the paper uses the concept of temperature-time integration, quantitates the curing conditions of construction sites,establishes relationships between the mechanical properties and the Temperature-time integration by testing. Relying on a project in Shandong Binzhou, it proposes reasonable parameters of structural design and construction of different construction seasons for the region. And achieves basement integration of design and construction contol of long-life asphalt pavement.
