The Application Of EDI In The Container Stowage

EDI is a new type information exchange style. It has been used since 1960. Computer applications, communications network and standardization technology are employed in it. Since 2000, the Maritime Safety Administration of China has tried to make use of EDI into container stowage. Until now, related research has been effective.The fundamental composition of EDI, the analyzed principle and systematic structure of EDI and the relevant algorithm of container ship stowage are described respectively in this paper. On this basis, message parsing C++ language class hierarchy and the data structure for data storage and fast access of container ship data have been designed and implemented. To have more cognition about EDI and make reference to some technologies and combine actual ship loading condition, this paper mainly include:(1) The detailed steps and the algorithmic flow diagram of analyzing of EDI message of container ship is to be settled on this basis. At last, the analyzed process can be transform to computer language.(2) The problem of calculating the area under the curve of Static Stability has been settled by using two trapezoid rule and triangle rule. Compared with the previous iteration algorithm, the two algorithms have high precision, fast speedand easy to implement.(3) To analyze the principle of the frame space, the algorithm of calculating the frame space according to frame space number has been showed. Experiment shows that this algorithm is effective.(4) Container stowage chart can be automatically generated on the basis of EDI message parsing. The stability and strength have been checked combined with the loading condition.In this paper, the problem of applying EDI to container stowage also has been settled based actual stowage message. EDI message can promote the development of container stowage.
