However, chemicals and chemical transportation are high dangerous, it is a crisis point to rise the shore stuffs and crew's operation skills to decrease the potential imperil to human, ship and environment.Computer communication technology is advancing day to day, and database is increasingly used in all aspects. Integration of these complex safety acknowledgement and handling on chemical tanker was made by studying the management experiences of these most professional chemical tanker management companies in the world. A suitable software was selected to achieve the safety handling management information system by considering the characteristics of chemical tanker.The safety acknowledgement and safety handling, some basic concepts and characteristics of management information system are introduced briefly. The Object-Oriented methods were selected based on the analysis and comparison of several kinds of developing methods. The system design principle was specified and the system function moulds were set off. Database design includes concept design, logical design and physical design. Finally, the fulfillment and initial running of the system were achieved.Functions can be achieved by this database management system include:the common users can browse, query, retrieve, print, download and so on these information of the system; the administrators can add, delete, modify the contents of the system beside these functions of common users.
