Study On Tanker Safety Management

Due to the special structure of oil tankers and the nature of cargo carried, in case of serious collision, stranding, aground and other accidents, it always followed by the serious casualties, ship explosion and environmental pollution.Tanker transportation is recognized as the high-risk industry. How to enhance ship safety management in order to protect the safety at sea, thereby reducing accidents, and to achieve the target of "zero accidents, zero injuries and zero pollution" for excellence, has become the goal of industry’s managers.With years of experience as captain and shore-based tanker manager, this paper discuss the management activities on ship’s navigation, mooring operations, cargo and ballast operations, mooring operations and marine equipment. Try to inspire tanker managers to improve the tanker safety management level, and to ensure the safety operation.
