Power system Interconnection has become the general trend of the power system development. In 2002, Northeast and North China Power Grid have realized traditional AC synchronous transmission interconnection, which is in the largest synchronized network in China. Along with the development of Ultra High Voltage Power Grid, grid operation in China has put forward higher stability requirements. Based on this, in November 25,2008, the Northeast and North China Power Grid realize DC back to back interconnection which is non-synchronous interconnection.Based on the comparative analysis between AC and DC interconnection of Northeast-North China Power grid, this study presents improvement suggestions to the GaoLing DC back to back connection mode. That is, on the basis of AC interconnection operating experience, this paper improves the station connection mode to realize the feasibility study which DC interconnection is main, AC interconnection is supplemental.
