As Chinese market asks for more domestic cars equipped with automated mechanical transmission, this paper researches on release loading characteristics deeply regarding Cherry QQ diaphragm spring clutch as study objects and supply theory base for controlling the torque precisely.While considering axial elastic characteristics of the driven plate, bending deformation of the separated finger, deformation of the clutch cover and elastic deformation of the strap drive and other factors, the paper analyses and establishes static model of the diaphragm spring clutch when any part's deformation being equivalent to release distance of release bearing, finally obtains the working characteristics curve of the diaphragm spring, release loading characteristics curve and press force characteristics of press plate using MATLAB software and discusses any part effecting on the working characteristics of the diaphragm spring clutch. Considering sliding friction between big end of diaphragm spring and press plate, separated finger and section of the release bearing during loading and unloading, the paper sets up calculation model with release distance as input and release force and press force as output.The paper sets up the experiment method with temperature and rotating speed as experimental factors and friction coefficient as experimental target using XP-5 pin-plate friction tester and studies the relation between friction coefficient and rotating speed, temperature. Then through orthogonal polynomial regression design, the paper sets up computational model of the friction coefficient, after its conspicuousness testing, regression equation can display the relation between friction coefficient and rotating speed, temperature precisely.Considering press force characteristic model and the linear return model of the friction coefficient, synthetic calculation model for torque transmission characteristic with distance of the clutch as input and friction torque as output. Then the torque characteristic test experiment is operated on the clutch performance test-bed, through comparing the calculation result with result from clutch platform experiment or AMT sample testing, it shows the calculation model can reflect the transmission torque more exactly. Based on the integrated computational model, the vehicle starting process is simulated and calculated using AMESim software, the changing relationship of the clutch starting distance,the speed difference,the surface temperature raising and the friction torque with the starting time during the vehicle stating process is predicted.
