Dual clutch transmission (DCT) has broad prospects in China. Bycombining the advanced control technology of automatic transmission withthe manufacture of the domestic traditional manual transmission (MT), it ispossible to develop DCT with independent intellectual property rights in ashort period of time. Thus we can gradually replace foreign automatictransmission products in China market position. The research of DCTtechnology plays an important role in China’s automotive automatictransmission.Based on the analysis of the load-deformation characteristics of thenormal-open clutch diaphragm spring, the parameters of the inner andouter diaphragm spring are selected, the axial compression properties ofdriven plate waveform spring are considered, the axial compressionproperties curve of driven plate assembly the driven plate is obtained byexperiment, the relation curve of the deformation of the binding finger andthe clamping force is deduced, the model between the clutch torque andjoint bearing displacement is established.By engine bench test, the relevant test data are obtained. The dynamictorque model of engine is established based on the correction coefficientmethod. The vehicle dynamics model, the clutch travel control model, thedriver intention judgment model and the system dynamics model ofvehicle equipped with a dual clutch transmission was set up. An exampleof the first gear to the second gear is taken. Considering the change of themoment of inertia caused by synchronizer in the switching process, theswitching process is divided into five stages, and the dual clutch transmission system dynamic equations of the corresponding phase arerespectively established. For the unique double clutch structure of dual clutch transmission, thedifferent starting modes are discussed, and the several typical modelsincluded crawl, normal and abrupt are analyzed. Considering the differentshifting situation of dual clutch transmission, the positive torque shift fromlow gear to high and form high gear to low are analyzed and researched. This paper is intended to provide a feasible calculate method toestablish a precise torque transfer model of dry dual clutch transmission, and a theoretical basis for starting and shift control research. The relatedconclusion could provide the reference of the research on shift quality andthe integrated optimal control of dynamic characteristics to dry dual clutchtransmission.
