With the development of computer technology and modem communication technology, the level of automation about power system is increasing. Power system has a lot of subsystem, often belong to different manufacturer, in order to satisfy the functional requirements. Information exchange is needed between subsystems to realize the overall efficiency. However, each manufacturer has it's own data model, which creates difficulties for the information exchange. International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) puts forward IEC 61970/61968 specification series, providing CIM (Common Information Model) as the based data model of model transformation between power systems. The format of Data model file, used in this thesis, is XML/RDF. In this format file, each object of CIM is identified with a RDF:ID.In this thesis, the main content and applications of IEC 61970/61968 specification series are introduced, the various packages of CIM and the relationship between the CIM classes are discussed, the CIM XML/RDF format file is mainly focused on. In this thesis, the inherited relationship of CIM classes and how to descript an objection of CIM in CIM XML/RDF format file are researched on, the description of all classes in Shenzhen's model file are given. The features of DMS and the mapping relationship of CIM and DMS1000E and association between CIM and SVG graphics are studied on in this thesis.Finally, a data model exchanged tool of distribution automation system is designed and developed, using QT+Oracle+VisualC++development environment. This tool is based on the import tool of EMS data model and combined with the characteristics of Shenzhen distribution system's data model. This model exchanged tool is verified correctness by importing a model file of Shenzhen GIS into DMS1000E. This tool can be used to import the model files and graph files into DMS1000E, together with a graph exchanged tool, to realize the model exchanged between the distribution automation system and other systems.
